About Flow Analysis Solutions
Flow Analysis Solutions, Inc. (FAS) was formed to exclusively act as the sales and marketing entity for Flow Analysis, Inc. (FAI), which was incorporated in 1987 and specializes in developing complex codes for computing aerodynamic flows. Examples of such are aircraft vortex wakes, computation of helicopter rotor and combined rotor/body flow, with emphasis on shed vortices, and the computation of Tiltrotors flows. These codes are predicated on the Vorticity Confinement (VC) technique, developed by Professor John Steinhoff, through FAI.
Extensive additional research at FAI, conducted by Dr. John Steinhoff resulted in the use of VC for the viscous computation of flow over complex bodies, such as automobiles. FAI works closely with and on certain research projects that are funded by elite organizations including DoD, NASA and AFOSR to name a few.
The operations are headquartered in New York, while research has been primarily conducted in facilities in the University of Tennessee Space Institute Research Park in Tullahoma, Tennessee and at Moffett Field in California. Flow Analysis personnel have, collectively, over 80 years experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics, with over 50 years directly involving rotorcraft and other Vortex-Dominated flows.
Flow Analysis, Inc. is known as the founder and center of expertise for Vorticity Confinement, a new technology in Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling.
